Surveys- Resolved Issues
over 2 years ago – Fri, May 31, 2024 at 05:05:24 PM

Hey there everyone! Just a brief housekeeping updates addressing some of the small errors/issues that a couple keen-eyed backers caught in the surveys, which have since been resolved:

  • Freebie minis for backers who pledged for 3+ pins [Vial of Stardust, Full Moon, Rosemary Sprig]:
    •  Anyone at the 3+ pin tiers now has an additional pledge question to select their mini
    •  All the Early Birds who have 3+ have received an $8 credit to select theirs from the add-ons

If you fall under one of these categories and completed your survey before 4 am CDT/9 am UTC yesterday,  I recommend going back into your survey to make your selections. Surveys can easily be recovered/accessed again from this link as well as your emails.

  • Missing items from Complete Collection tiers:
    • Items missing from the automatically added pledge tier items have now been applied to the surveys for these backers
    • Missing SKUs included all stickers, washi tape, and all three mini pin

  • Lightning/Dreamweaver redesign compromise add-ons for Early Bird backers:
    • For any EB backers who want the add-ons, I can apply a $3 credit your survey to honor the original pricing of pins [$12] by covering that difference.
    • If you'd like me to take care of that for you, feel free to either drop a comment here or shoot me an email at [email protected]

Thank you to everyone who alerted me of these hiccups, and please let me know if there are any further mistakes that you might happen to catch!

📃 Foxwright Surveys! 📃
over 2 years ago – Thu, May 30, 2024 at 10:09:25 PM

All surveys are now live for everyone given that there were no issues on that front during the smoke test!

Check your inboxes to find yours, and please let me know if there are any issues that arise and I'll be happy to get that sorted out.

Completing these as promptly as possible helps move the process along are swiftly and smoothly as possible, the sooner I have my counts, the sooner the order can be placed with the manufacturer!  As always, thank you so much for the support and I look forward to getting to see these pins once they exist in physical form!

Redesigns: Follow-up & Apology
over 2 years ago – Thu, May 30, 2024 at 10:06:29 PM

I want to offer my apologies for the upset and any confusion that the redesigns for the Lightning in a Bottle and Dreamweaver Draught pins has caused-- I am fully recognizing that this was a misstep on my part and I shouldn't have made large changes after the campaign ended. This has definitely been a learning experience on my end, and I certainly will not be doing that again on any future projects. I didn't expect this to become as contentious as is has, that was never my intention or anything I foresaw.

☁️ Smoke Test & Redesign Feedback ☁️
over 2 years ago – Tue, May 28, 2024 at 09:00:20 PM

Smoke Tests

Coming in with another update for you fine folks— survey smoke tests have been sent out! Check your inboxes to see if you’re one of the lucky 5% from each tier to have gotten theirs! Once I get response back from those of you who have received them and all seems well, no issues or typos to be found, then the rest will be pushed to everyone.

Of course, if you are part of the smoke test and have any issues/catch a mistake in your survey, please reach out so I can fix it!  As of right now, it looks like about half of the people they went out to have filled them out-- thank you so much for your promptness!

Lightning/Dreamweaver Designs

Also, I know there was some disappointment surrounding the changes made to the Lightning in a Bottle and Dreamweaver Draught designs— I can add those to the survey add-ons as a post-campaign stretch goal, and if enough folks are interested and select them they’ll get made as well. I’ve created a poll to see how many people would be interested in that as a compromise, which I’ve attached to this update— I always appreciate the feedback and don’t want anyone to leave any of my projects dissatisfied.

As always, thank you so much for the support!

Dreamweaver & Lightning Redesigns • Update on Surveys
over 2 years ago – Tue, May 21, 2024 at 01:47:01 AM

Hello all-- first off, my utmost apologies for how long this has taken to get out to you guys! I've been at war with the Neverending Sinus Infection, on top of car troubles and everything else wrong with my body getting so much worse with the rising temperatures.

Redesigns

Prior to launching, the Lightning in a Bottle pin gave me the most trouble with the design, and I was never quite happy with what I did come up with initially-- same goes for the Dreamweaver Draught design, I kept feeling like there was just something missing and the final design I put out missed the mark somehow. Coming back to the drawing board with these two designs was important to me, and I can proudly say that these designs are what I've been striving towards.

The original Lightning in a Bottle design felt a little too messy and unclear to me-- it wasn't immediately obvious at a glance what exactly the design even was without the additional context. This one has a whole lot more personality in addition to legibility. I think the cloud-shaped bottle with a darker, stormier tone to the glass suits the theme far more, along with the stopper being inspired by antique lightning rods. I am still toying with the idea of making the cloudy swirls in this one darker and more desaturated, but the linework and overall vibe is settled.

Likewise, the Dreamweaver Draught has far more movement and far better communicates its purposing than the original design-- its also a lot more faithful to my original sketches for the concept.
