Latest Updates from Our Project:

☁️ Smoke Test & Redesign Feedback ☁️

Smoke Tests

Coming in with another update for you fine folks— survey smoke tests have been sent out! Check your inboxes to see if you’re one of the lucky 5% from each tier to have gotten theirs! Once I get response back from those of you who have received them and all seems well, no issues or typos to be found, then the rest will be pushed to everyone.

Of course, if you are part of the smoke test and have any issues/catch a mistake in your survey, please reach out so I can fix it!  As of right now, it looks like about half of the people they went out to have filled them out-- thank you so much for your promptness!

Lightning/Dreamweaver Designs

Also, I know there was some disappointment surrounding the changes made to the Lightning in a Bottle and Dreamweaver Draught designs— I can add those to the survey add-ons as a post-campaign stretch goal, and if enough folks are interested and select them they’ll get made as well. I’ve created a poll to see how many people would be interested in that as a compromise, which I’ve attached to this update— I always appreciate the feedback and don’t want anyone to leave any of my projects dissatisfied.

As always, thank you so much for the support!

Dreamweaver & Lightning Redesigns • Update on Surveys
7 months ago – Tue, May 21, 2024 at 01:47:01 AM

Hello all-- first off, my utmost apologies for how long this has taken to get out to you guys! I've been at war with the Neverending Sinus Infection, on top of car troubles and everything else wrong with my body getting so much worse with the rising temperatures.

Redesigns

Prior to launching, the Lightning in a Bottle pin gave me the most trouble with the design, and I was never quite happy with what I did come up with initially-- same goes for the Dreamweaver Draught design, I kept feeling like there was just something missing and the final design I put out missed the mark somehow. Coming back to the drawing board with these two designs was important to me, and I can proudly say that these designs are what I've been striving towards.

The original Lightning in a Bottle design felt a little too messy and unclear to me-- it wasn't immediately obvious at a glance what exactly the design even was without the additional context. This one has a whole lot more personality in addition to legibility. I think the cloud-shaped bottle with a darker, stormier tone to the glass suits the theme far more, along with the stopper being inspired by antique lightning rods. I am still toying with the idea of making the cloudy swirls in this one darker and more desaturated, but the linework and overall vibe is settled.

Likewise, the Dreamweaver Draught has far more movement and far better communicates its purposing than the original design-- its also a lot more faithful to my original sketches for the concept.

🎉 Foxwright Apothecary ⋯⁎◈⁎⋯ A Resounding Success!

That's a wrap!

🦊 Foxwright Apothecary is officially a resounding success! I genuinely cannot believe how well this project has gone-- it means the world to me that this collection, which is very much a passion project of personal significance, resonated with so many people. I was optimistically hoping to do around 6k for this one, and y'all knocked that out of the park.

Out of curiosity, I went back and subtracted the shipping costs from the campaign total of my most successful project, the Tastefully Spooky Collection, since that one was on Kickstarter and the shipping costs were included in the total raised. It came out to around 14.2k, planting the Apothecary in second place by a margin of only about ~$500 at the 13.7k we've got here! TSC was the project that made me realize that I could actually do this whole thing for a living, and given the current landscape of the internet for artists on top of the economy I know I've definitely been feeling the pressure and more-than-a-little-bit discouraged lately, but the success of Pintopia has firmly reinforced my confidence in both my work and ability to run a business. Thank you so, so much to everyone who has backed, shared, or interacted in any way! You all are amazing! 💜

What happens next? ⫸

☁️ Now that the day-to-day chaos of managing a live campaign has ended, I'm able to sit down with my designs that were created for new goal a bit more and see where I need to make some adjustments, particularly the Dreamweaver Draught. I feel like it's on the right track, but just isn't quite there yet. 🌩️ Lightning in a Bottle is another one that is getting a substantial overhaul; though it is one of the original designs, it was the one that gave me the hardest time by a long shot. Now that I've been looking at it for over a month, I'm not satisfied with it and want to go back to the drawing board. I think it needs to be a bit more visually engaging and, most of all, want to make the subject much clearer. Other than that, it's just a matter of tweaking some spots to make sure everything looks its best and is suitable for pin production, to avoid any revision headaches.

⫷ Surveys ⫸

I've gotten started on setting up and preparing the surveys for everyone; I am aiming to (hopefully) get those out within a week's time. This is where shipping information and costs will be collected, along with providing the option to grab some more add-ons that you may have missed during the campaign and other fun exclusive offerings or deals!

The surveys are vitally important for getting item counts so I know how to adjust my quantities accordingly and can get the order placed with my manufacturer as soon as possible, especially since this is going to be a large order between all the designs, I'm anticipating a bit more of a wait between payment and getting them in hand.

Once everything is sorted out on the back-end, the survey smoke test will be sent out-- which is just a fancy way to say the survey will be sent to 5% of the backers at every pledge tier to make sure nothing has been accidentally overlooked and give me a chance to resolve errors/inconsistencies/areas that need clarification before all 481 of you have the surveys and I need to fix things for 481 individual surveys.

Also, pardon my delay in getting this update out to you wonderful collection of people! I didn't have my ADHD medication for five days (the pharmacy hours in this town are not conducive to being somewhat nocturnal), and it's remarkable that I've accomplished anything at all. Thank you so much for your patience, and the support for this project! ⋙

🔮 The Final Stretch Begins!

It's the final leg of Pintopia 2024-- only 48 hours remain!

It's also time to unveil the mini pin designs! It was really close between the moon and herbs (only a single vote's difference) with a tiny potion not far behind, so I opted to try and fulfill all of those wishes with three separate designs to choose from!

Everyone who pledges to receive three or more full-size pins gets a freebie mini pin of their choosing! They are also available to everyone as an add-on, for an individual mini or all three at a discount. However, please note that the mini pin add-ons do not count towards getting the freebie mini as well.

Additionally, washi tape was the fan favorite for an additional add-on as our 10k goal! I had a lot of fun designing this, it's been a while since I've had the chance to design a washi; I've really got to start doing this more! I hope you all like it too-- it's available as an add-on to everyone, and is included in the "Full Collection" tier, along with the minis!

⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨈⨇⨈⨇⨈⨇

Thank you so much for all the support and enthusiasm for Foxwright Apothecary! Let's see how far we can take this project during the final 48!
